Henry Rodriguez Clears Waivers, Head to Iowa

Pitcher Henry Rodriguez has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Iowa for the time being.

I find this surprising, because no matter how raw his talent is, he can hit triple digits on the gun.  Either way, I’m glad the Cubs still have control of him for now.

Rodriguez has a 4.09 ERA and 1.818 WHIP with just 4.9 K/9 in 22 games in 2013.  He pitched in just five games with the Cubs, allowing two runs and 10 base runners in four innings.
